✦ Synopsis

This study of the title compound, C 14 H 9 F 3 N 4 O, is part of a series of structural investigations of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitors containing 1,3-diarylpyrazole derivatives. The crystal structure is stabilized by intermolecular N-HÁ Á ÁO and C-HÁ Á ÁF hydrogen-bonding interactions.

The title compound, C 27 H 16 Cl 2 F 6 N 4 O 2 ÁH 2 O, was obtained by the reaction of 2,4-dichlorobenzaldehyde and 2-phenyl-5trifluoromethyl-2H-pyrazol-3-ol in aqueous media without any catalyst. In the crystal structure, both intra-and intermolecular hydrogen bonds are found.
