✦ Synopsis


57Co emission M6ssbauer measurements have been performed for YBa2Cu306.92 (1-2-307) as well as YBa2Cu306.O (1-2-306) at room temperature and compared with the results from 57Fe absorber experiments reported previously. It is found that the Co atoms mainly substitute Cul chain sites in 1-2-307 but about 80 % Co atoms occupy Cu2 plane sites in 1-2-306 indicating a magnetically. split sextet. Post annealing in 02 induced a transformation from sextet to doublet D3 rising from S-state Fe3+ at Cu2 sites in 1-2-307.
