โœฆ Synopsis

  1. Optical reflectivity of a papbite single crystal* E. S. Bomar and W. P. Eatherly (belay and Ceramics L&&ion, Oak Ridge ~at~~a~ ~~~at~, Oak Ridge, Ten~ssee). The reflectivity of a single crystal of Ticonderoga graphite was measured using a microscope photometer. The dependence of intensity on sample rotation was determined for the reflected beam with and without an analyzer. The results agreed with theoretical predictions within experimental error. Slightly higher values for optical properties were found than were reported in the literature.

The relation between the coating conditions and mechanical pmperties of the isotropic pyrolytic carbons deposited in a tumbling bed have been investigated. At a constant total flow rate of mixed gases and a constant revolution rate of the reaction tube. pure and Si-alloyed pyrolytic carbons were dep

The temperature dependence is for PVC exactly Curie type, so is also for the sugar chars, however, with a deviation gradually showing up above HTT of 700ยฐC. It is believed that this deviation is due to incr

The purpose of this work was to examine the possible significance in the formation of metallurgical coke of the anisotropic spherical mesophase exemplified by that found during the carbonization of pitch-like materials, and to ascertain if the various types of optical anisotropy found in coke could
