✦ Synopsis
Abstract
5,5′‐Bi‐5__H__‐cyclopenta[2,1‐b;3,4‐b′]dipyridinylidene(1) was synthesized in three steps from 9,10‐phenanthroline and characterized by UV/VIS and NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and cyclic voltammetry. Its ability to act as a bridging ligand is demonstrated by the synthesis of the complexes Ru(bpy)~2~(1)~2~ (6) and {Ru(bpy)~2~}~2~(1)~4~ (7) (bpy = 2,2′‐bipyridine).

## Abstract The synthesis of [^3^H]CP‐96,501 [5‐(2,3‐ditritiopropoxy)‐3‐(1,2,5,6‐tetrahydropyrid‐4‐yl)indole], a selective radioligand for the serotonin (5‐HT~1B~) receptor and analog of RU‐24,969, is described. 5‐Hydroxyindole is converted in two steps to 5‐(2‐propenyloxy)‐3‐(N‐__t__‐butoxycarbony
