En el año 51 un grupo de científicos es enviado al desierto de nevada para investigar una extraña perturbación geográfica. Meses después un convoy militar se conduce a toda prisa a través del desierto con el objetivo de contactar con la base militar con la que hace semanas han perdido el contacto. Años después Alison, una joven reportera y Vince, un desafortunado piloto de pruebas coinciden en la base militar más secreta del mundo. Allí se encontraran en mitad de una lucha de poder entre el actual presidente del gobierno de los EEUU y un importante grupo militar, el CDN, que parece conspirar para dominar el mundo. Mientras tanto Vince (Lone) tratará de dar respuesta a uno de los misterios de la base, donde un vehículo experimental, el Esfera, ha desaparecido ante la mirada atónita de los científicos. A cada salto del Esfera parece incrementar la tensión en la base, al tiempo que empieza a producirse extrañas desapariciones. Pero pronto se darán cuenta de que hay algo más. Algo que lo maneja todo.
