In the crystal structure of the title compound, C 8 H 5 BrO 3 , two molecules are linked about inversion centres by CÐHÁ Á ÁBr hydrogen bonds. The structure is also characterized by intraand intermolecular hydrogen bonds between hydroxyl and aldehyde O atoms.
