✦ Synopsis

The title compound, C 35 H 24 Cl 6 N 2 O 3 , which was synthesized by the [3 + 2]-cycloaddition of 2,6-dichlorobenzonitrile oxide and 2,7-bis(4-chlorobenzylidene)cycloheptanone, contains two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit. Three rings are linked by two spiro-C atoms. The cycloheptanone ring adopts a chair conformation and the two ®ve-membered isoxazoline rings have envelope conformations.
