Simple Three-Component Synthesis of 4-Acyl-5-phenyl-1-(2-hetaryl)-3-hydroxy-3-pyrrolin-2-ones. -Thermal three-component cyclocondensation of methyl acylpyruvate (I), benzaldehyde (II) and hetarylamines (III) furnishes the novel 4-acyl-5-phenylpyrrolinones-2 (IV) containing a hetaryl group at the N(
