✦ Synopsis

Work carried out at Istanbul Technical University describes the design of hyperbranched aliphatic polyesters from bis-MPA monomer and the synthesis of various core molecules. Stoichiometric amounts of the bis-MPA monomer were added to the core molecules under acidic catalysis. The high hydroxyl functionality of these polymers makes them suitable as precursers in the synthesis of new hyperbranched urethane acrylates for wood coating applications.
