✦ Synopsis
The title compound, C 19 H 16 BrN 3 O, was synthesized by the reaction of 5-amino-3-methyl-1-phenylpyrazole with 4-bromophenylaldehyde and Medrum's acid in glycol under microwave irradiation. X-ray crystal structure analysis reveals three crystallographically independent molecules in the asymmetric unit. In all these molecules, the dihydropyridine ring adopts a distorted envelope conformation. In the crystal structure, the molecules exist as N-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen-bonded dimers.
