✦ Synopsis

The title Schiff base compound, C~19~H~20~N~2~O~4~, was synthesized by the reaction of o-phenylenediamine with 6-methoxysalicylaldehyde. The central benzene ring makes dihedral angles of 2.78 (5) and 73.98 (5)° with the two terminal phenol rings. Each methoxy group is coplanar with the attached phenol ring. The crystal structure is stabilized by intramolecular O—H...N and intermolecular C—H...O hydrogen bonds.
