✦ Synopsis
The title compound, C 21 H 15 FO, crystallizes with two molecules in the asymmetric unit, which differ only in the signs of their torsion angles. Nevertheless, the two molecules are not related by any crystallographic symmetry element. The dihedral angles between the two phenyl rings of the biphenyl unit are 3.0 (2) and 2.1 (2) .
