✦ Synopsis

The title compound, C 14 H 10 ClNO, is a nitrogen derivative closely related to natural 3 0 ,7-epoxy-8,4 0 -oxyneolignans, which are of interest because of their cytotoxic activity. Centrosymmetric hydrogen bonding occurs between pairs of molecules.
