✦ Synopsis
The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C 16 H 13 ClN 4 O, contains two crystallographically independent molecules, A and B. The pyrazole ring of A makes dihedral angles of 5.8 (1) and 7.2 (1) with the pyrimidine ring and the benzene ring, respectively; the corresponding values in molecule B are 7.1 (1) and 13.4 (1) . The independent molecules display intramolecular C-HÁ Á ÁN and C-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds.

In the title compound, C 21 H 21 ClN 2 O 2 , the pyrazole and chlorobenzene rings are coplanar and make a dihedral angle of 79.7 (2) with the tert-butylbenzene ring. The crystal structure displays intermolecular O-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonding.
The crystal structure of the title compound, C~18~H~11~ClN~2~O~4~, contains intra- and intermolecular hydrogen bonds that link the ketone and hydroxyl groups. The intermolecular hydrogen bond results in the formation of a dimer with an __R__ ~2~ ^2^(12) graph-set motif.
