✦ Synopsis

It follows a very successful first conference where nearly 300 delegates from 32 countries met during three days to hear 57 papers and discuss the topic in depth, concluding with technical study tours on the fourth day.

The conference highlighted a growing interest worldwide in maintaining and improving safety records and demonstrated many opportunities to implement and integrate safety procedures, and utilise new and forward thinking technology.

This second conference will extend and develop the overall aim of protection by design, prevention by monitoring and control, and response by plan.

The scope will cover Road and Rail Vehicles, Tunnel Equipment, Routine Operation and Emergency Response, and Training and Research.
