A metal chelating ligand is bonded to โฃ-, โค-, and โฅ-cyclodextrin by the reaction of diethylenetraminepentaacetic dianhydride with the corresponding 6-monoand 2-mono(amine)cyclodextrin. Adding Dy(III) to the cyclodextrin derivatives causes shifts in the 1 H-NMR spectra of substrates such as propranol
The chiral macrocyclic complexes obtained in a template condensation of (R,R)-1,2-diaminocyclohexane and 2,6-diformylpyridine, Ln \ La(III), Ce(III), Eu(III) and Yb(III), were studied by 1H [LnL](NO 3 ) 3 , and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The signal assignment was based on COSY, NOESY and HMQC measurement
are reported. Analysis of NMR and UV-visible spectra suggests a highly symmetrical structure for [ LnPcZ ]in solution. Contact shifts and pseudo-contact shifts were separated from the observed paramagnetic shifts by a statistical analysis and the results compared with data from other LSR complexes.
