✦ Synopsis
An evaluation of variations in the flexural strength of graphite determined in four-point bending tests has shown geometrical factors to have substantial influences on the measurement. Among the factors evaluated were the specimen cross-sectional geometry, ratio of load/support span to specimen thickness, and the use of rigid and nonrigid test fixtures.
