✦ Synopsis

The extent of homogeneous mlxlng In a continuous stirred tank reactor can prlnclpally be determIned by measuring the conversion of an autocatalytic reaction. Usjng the Landolt-reaction with arsenate as reducing agent, the mlxlng of separate feed streams 1s studied in two reactors of different geometry. It 1s shown that the proposed method 1s sensitive but that the experimental conditions must be chosen with care to avoId ambiguity. ## Abstract A mixing‐reaction model β€˜MIRE‐CSTR’ is developed to describe the selectivity behaviour mixing‐disguised reactions in continuous stirred tank reactors (CSTR). For competitive, consecutive reactions the general behaviour is demonstrated and a comparison with the behaviour in discontinuous
