## Abstract Barometric tendencies at Changi are βcorrectedβ for the diurnal effect and then examined in relation to the occurrence of rain in the following period. It is shown that the threeβhourly corrected tendencies are of no value in forecasting rain.

β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
Rainfall over Singapore, on each day for a year, was compared with that of the preceding day and the day was classified according to the change of weather which had occurred. A 24βhr tendency parameter, available on the previous day, was computed. A relation between the parameter and weather trends is demonstrated.
