✦ Synopsis

In the title compound, C 14 H 10 N 4 O 2 , the pyridine ring and the isatin unit (indoline-2,3-dione) are nearly coplanar, the dihedral angle being 3.79 (11) . Inter-and intramolecular N-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonding and weak intermolecular C-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonding occur in the crystal structure.

In the title compound, C 26 H 20 BrN 3 O 3 , the central pyrrolidine ring adopts an envelope conformation. In the crystal structure, the molecules exist as centrosymmetric N-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogenbonded dimers. The dimers are linked via C-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds, forming a chain along the b axis.
