The title compound, [AuCl 2 (C 10 H 8 N 2 )]NO 3 , is layered parallel to (101) by %±% stacking. The individual {101} layers are held together by extensive CÐHÁ Á ÁO and CÐHÁ Á ÁCl hydrogen bonding.
