β¦ Synopsis
Materials Engineering Department, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY 12181, U.S.A.).
Mass spectra of the species evolved during flash pyrolysis of pitches will be presented. Distinct differences in mass spectra were noted for the different feedstocks. Limitations of the technique will be discussed. For the toluene insolubles of A-240 pitch, significant quantities of naphthalene and anthracene and their methyl monosubstituted variants were observed.
Studies on pitch pyrolysis by combined thermogravimetric and gaschromatographic analysis
