We determined serum concentrations of beta HCG and testosterone by specific radioimmunoassays in eight cryptorchid and 13 normal newborns in the first 24 h of life. Mean serum beta HCG concentration in the cryptorchid infants (18.9 +/- 9.7 miu/ml) did not differ significantly from the control group
