✦ Synopsis

Abstract

It is shown that 2‐vinyl‐1,3‐dioxan can be synthesized by the methods of Faass and Hilgert^1^ and of Fisher and Smith^2^. From 2‐vinyl‐1,3‐dioxan we obtained 2‐ethyl‐1,3‐dioxan and 2‐(1β€²,2′‐dibromoethyl)‐1,3‐dioxan. 4‐Vinyl‐1,3‐dioxan and 2‐vinyl‐1,3‐dioxan have the same boiling point and refractive index; infrared spectra, however, are different.
