Abstract
It is shown that 2βvinylβ1,3βdioxan can be synthesized by the methods of Faass and Hilgert^1^ and of Fisher and Smith^2^. From 2βvinylβ1,3βdioxan we obtained 2βethylβ1,3βdioxan and 2β(1β²,2β²βdibromoethyl)β1,3βdioxan. 4βVinylβ1,3βdioxan and 2βvinylβ1,3βdioxan have the same boiling point and refractive index; infrared spectra, however, are different.
