In the crystal structure of the title compound, C 6 H 6 IN, each 2-iodoaniline molecule forms part of three extended helices. Each helix exhibits a different intermolecular interaction, viz. weak N-HÁ Á ÁN hydrogen bonds with an HÁ Á ÁN distance of 2.31 (11) A ˚, IÁ Á ÁI interactions of 3.7986 (15) A ˚and C-HÁ Á Á contact distances of 2.53 A ˚.
