β¦ Synopsis
In this paper, interior flux calculations for two-dimensional transient scalar wave propagation are developed and presented for the first time in the BEM literature. There are some severe analytical difficulties in the derivation of these kernels which have been circumvented through physical interpretation. Moreover, an apparent singularity at the wave-front of these kernels has been reduced to an integrable one through some convenient condensation. These kernels have been implemented in the time-domain BEM algorithm with linear temporal variation and quadratic spatial variation for the field variables. Some numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the accuracy of the implementation.
