In the cation of the title compound, C 13 H 12 NO + ÁCl À ÁH 2 O, the rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 53.62 (3) . In the crystal structure, N-HÁ Á ÁCl, N-HÁ Á ÁO and O-HÁ Á ÁCl hydrogen bonds link the ions and water molecules, forming a three-dimensional network.
