Abstract
In this paper, by exploiting surrounding fractal UC‐EBG ground plane, a 2 × 2 microstrip array capable of X‐band operation is studied. Result of comparison shows that this microstrip array proposed has much lower RCS than that of 2 × 2 array with the standard ground at frequencies outside operating band within 2–18 GHz while its gain is improved in the operating band. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
