✦ Synopsis
This paper reports on the assignment of the 1H and 13C NMR spectra of 14 bicyclo[4.2.0]octane derivatives. Resonance assignments were made on the basis of one-and two-dimensional NMR techniques which included 1H, 13C, DEPT, HMQC and 1HÈ1H COSY and also 1D NOE di †erence spectroscopy. The ratio of the di †erent conformers in the six-membered ring of the bicyclooctane system was determined by molecular mechanics calculations, analysis of proton spinÈspin coupling constants and 13C chemical shifts.
