The society's eighth annual conference, held October 22-25 in Washington, DC, broke its own records on several counts. The highest number of participants in ASHRM's history-approximately 700-attended the conference; the highest number of vendors-38exhibited services and products at the trade show; and six concurrent sessions were held each of three days, for a total of 18-the largest number of presentations ever featured at an ASHRM conference.
Workshops sponsored by interested exhibitors were held on two days. A White House briefing on the professional liability crisis was held Thursday evening; it drew hundreds more applicants than the 200 permitted to attend. from last year, included the instructional video festival, the special-interest sessions, and the workshop on risk management fundamentals.
