The needs for good databases and truly 3D shape representation will be met. There is no doubt of that. Graphics, which is becoming cheaper and more accessible, is taking on extra responsibilities and opening-up new possibilities. However, a lot remains to be done, the lessons of experience can easily be lost and the wheel reinvented. This conference clearly aimed at sharing experiences and exchanging technology to avoid this duplication of effort. In doing so, a lot of questions were asked and CAM-i hope that the paths they choose for their projects lead to the right answers.
