The Y = 0 + 1 vibrational excitation function for 0, chemisorbed on a Pt(ll1) surface is reported for the incidence electron energies l-9 eV. This measurement, combined with experimental results for chemisorbed O,/Pd(lll) previously reported in the literature, shows the presence of the 30: resonance
