✦ Synopsis

The title compound, C~32~H~26~N~2~S~2~, is a new spiro thiooxindole derivative which was synthesized with the aim that it might be effective in treating a number of diseases. In spite of the existence of the C__sp__
^3^ atom, the thiooxindole group is almost planar. There are a number of intramolecular C—H...S hydrogen bonds.
