Trajectory studies on a model for the isomerisation of CHSNC to CH,CN show that rotational energy suppresses the rate of isomerisation. This is in contrast to the effect of rotation on a dissociation reaction. The effect is due to the generation of a centrifugal barrier along the reaction coordinate
