✦ Synopsis

The ENDOR double resonance has been observed in a charcoal prepared by heating of saccharose to 400Β°C. In the same charcoal the dynamic polarization of the protons has been measured, i.e. the enhancement of the intensity of nuclear resonance, the polarization time of the protons and their relaxation times. All these results are discussed and compared with theory.

## Abstract This study describes quantitatively the effect of O~2~ on the dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) of water protons. It is shown theoretically how DNP enhancement is altered by the paramagnetism of O~2~. The nonlinear effect of oxygen on the enhancement factor has been approximated by a f

We have measured the time evolution of the cross-polarization processes between the proton spins of a naphthalene host crystal and the photo-excited triplet electron spins of pentacene guest molecules in a pulsed DNP experiment. The observed oscillatory behaviour is explained as arising from dominan
