✦ Synopsis

This paper treats the atmospheric orbit transfer of a spacecraft. The main problem developed is the atmospheric flight. The guidance law is obtained by using two classical non-linear guidance methods: trajectory tracking, and the sliding-mode control technique. A model reduction by singular perturbations is also considered. The point is that the system is required to track a pre-defined reference trajectory, such that the vehicle flies from given initial conditions to defined exit conditions. To test the perfomumce of the guidance law, a robustness study is done for atmospheric density variations.
