β¦ Synopsis
The formation of surface complexes on active sites during the reaction of Saran char with air at 648K has been investigated. The oxygen complexes were thermally desorbed up to 1223K as CO and CO2 following gasification of the char to different levels of burn-off. Areas occupied by the complex increased with burn-off and at burn-offs above 70% exceeded total surface area estimated from physical gas adsorption.

A mathematical model was developed to predict the temperature distribution within various layers of conveyor belts during the continuous curing process. The results predicted by the model are found to be in good agreement with the experimental results, hence justifying the capability of the model fo
The Focused Beam ReΒ―ectance Measurement (FBRM) technique provides on-line and in-situ information about the chord length distribution of a population of particles in dispersion. This is rather promising for applications such as crystal size distribution control in crystallization processes. The obje
The solar chimney is a natural draft device which uses solar radiation to provide upward momentum to the in-flowing air, thereby converting the thermal energy into kinetic energy. A study was undertaken to evaluate the performance characteristics of solar chimneys both theoretically and experimental
