C27-C29 14D,22R-epithiosteranes 1 were isolated from a Miocene sediment and their structures determined by 1D and 2D N'MR. This novel series of sedimentary steroids presumably results from intramolecular incorporation of sulfur on steradiene precursors of algal origin.
