✦ Synopsis

A novel, potentially tetradentate, ligand, C 18 H 18 N 4 , was synthesized by the reaction of terephthalaldehyde with 2-aminopyridine. The molecule is centrosymmetric and the presence of hydrogen-bonding interactions results in a chain structure.
