The 'HNMR spectra of variously annulated methylfurocournarins are reported. The assignment of the chemical shifts for all the protons was achieved by using coupling constants, and shift effects induced by the introduction of methyl groups at various positions on the furocoumarin nucleus.

## Abstract Proton‐coupled ^13^C NMR spectra were obtained for three methyl‐substituted butadienes, namely 2‐methylbuta‐1,3‐diene, __trans__‐2‐methylpenta‐1,3‐diene and 2,4‐dimethylpenta‐1,3‐diene. The second‐order spectra were analysed by computer, using some new ^1^H NMR data, and the resulting c
Carbon-1 3 spectral assignments of five pyrano[3,2-c] [l]benzopyran-5(2H) -ones, five pyrano[2,3-c] [l ]benzopyran-5(2H)ones and five 2-methylfuro[2,3-c] [ l ] benzopyran-4-ones and of 2-methylfuro[3, 2-c] [l]benzopyran-4-one and 4-(2-chloroallyl)-3-hydroxycoumarin were made from mutual correlations
