✦ Synopsis

Reactions of some new 3-a1yLphthalaziNum-1-olates were studied with olefinic and acetylenic dipolarophiles giving the expected cycloadducts. However, the cycloaddition of 3-(4',6'-dimethylpyrimidin-2'-yl)-phthalaziNum-I-olate with ethyl acetylenecarboxylate was not regioselective and gave a mixture of two possible regioisomers.
