✦ Synopsis

The kinetics of intercalation of bromine in graphite were modeled by considering the change in free energy from stage to stage and the diffusion of bromine. The model predicts that Cn,4BrZ is unstable at temperatures above N 250°C. Satisfactory agreement was found between the model and the experimental time-temperature-transformation curves.
