✦ Synopsis
The centrosymmetric title compound, C 54 H 70 O 4 , contains a benzene ring at the centre and four 2-tert-butyl-4-methylphenoxymethyl substituents. In the structure of the molecule, some of the benzene rings are coplanar. The title compound displays intramolecular CÐHÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds. The crystal structure is stabilized by CÐHÁ Á Á% interactions.

In the crystal structure of the title compound, C 17 H 28 NO + ÁClO 4 À , the N-protonated piperidine ring is present in the normal chair conformation. The perchlorate anions link the cations, through intermolecular NÐHÁ Á ÁO and OÐHÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds, forming a chain-like structure.
