✦ Synopsis
The title compound (-CF 2 -SF 3 ) 2 ( 2) is prepared from (-CF 2 -SO 2 gives [-CF 2 -S(O)F] 2 (4), and CsF-catalysed oxidation with F 2 leads to the previously reported (-CF 2 -SF 5 ) 2 ( 11). Ab SCl) 2 (1) and F 2 at -90 °C in 83 % yield. Reaction of 2 with CsF and TASF yields Cs[(-CF 2 -SF 3 ) 2 F] (8), TAS [(-CF 2 SF 3 ) 2 F] initio calculations of the molecular structures of 2 and the related methane derivative F 2 C(SF 3 ) 2 are reported. ( 9) and (TAS) 2 [(-CF 2 -SF 4 ) 2 ] (10). Fluoride-ion abstraction yields [(-CF 2 SF 2 ) 2 F] [AsF 6 ] (6), BF 3 -catalysed solvolysis in
