✦ Synopsis
In this letter, the influence of the inherent distortion of source impedance in an RVS formalism on the S -parameter 11 evaluation of antenna structures is discussed. It turns out that the source model is not critical; one can decide the port Ž . impedance real or complex in the postprocessing stage. The simulated input impedance is seen to be essentially independent of the source impedance, and furthermore, independent of the source cell height, provided that the feed point is consistently moved to a suitable reference location in the postprocessing.
The main issue in this letter has not been the absolute accuracy or relevance of the RVS or similar models, but to Ž . demonstrate that the input impedance and S -evaluation 11 can be made independently of the particular source model and cell height chosen.
