As the probability of y-radiation is proportional to the square of the change of the velocity vector of the moving charge, one may expect the cross-section of the quadropole y-radiation in pp collisions to be sufficiently large. The calculation is based on the application of the perturbation method only to the interaction of protons with the electromagnetic field. However, as the interaction energy of two protons is unknown, quantitative conclusions can be drawn from the general formulas obtained for the radiation cross-section only for the soft part of the y-spectrum. In this case the experimental values of the differential cross-section of elastic scattering (i.e. scattering without y-radiation) can be substituted into the general expression obtained. A formula for the radiation cross-section in pp scattering is established for the soft region of the y-spectrum, and an estimate is given for the hard region.
