✦ Synopsis


The complete '03Rh and '% hyperfine coupling tensors of the 4d' low-spin chelate tetraphenylarsoniumbis(maleonitriledithiolato)rhodate(II) doped into the corresponding nickel complex salt have been measured by EPR-ENDOR spectroscopy. Both interactions are small and confirm that the unpaired electron is in an "out-of-plane" x-type molecular orbital. The Rh-S bonds are less covalent than bonds in the isoelectronic Pd(II1) complex.
