✦ Synopsis

The title compound, C 9 H 10 N 2 S, was prepared by thionation of 1-(2-pyridyl)pyrrolidin-2-one with phosphorus pentasul®de. In the crystalline state, the plane of the pyrrolidine-2-thione ring is twisted by about 21 relative to the pyridine ring. In the crystal structure, molecules are associated by %±% stacking.
