✦ Synopsis

Abstracts estimation algorithm, along with the simple dead-beat control law, constitute an adaptive control strategy that achieves the highest possible rate of convergence for the quadratic criterion.

043 Adaptive Optimization with Constraints J.M. Lemos, This work is concerned with the adaptive minimisation of static functionals in which there are constraints on the independent variable. The interest in such algorithms consists in that the global expressions for both the functional and the constraint are unknown and may be slowly time-varying. Thus there is a need to resort to adaptive techniques.

048 User Supplied Information in the Design of Linear Quadratic Gausslan Self-Tuning Controllers M. K~irny, A. Halouskov~l, pp 291-296

Practical implementation of LQG-selftuners can be substantially facilitated by CAD support. Moreover, user-supplied information, though it is usually uncertain and sometimes seemingly irrelevant, can improve controller performance and start. The paper deals with translation of the user's knowledge, expressed in terms of his every-day language, into a well-groonded mathematical problem formulation. Available information supplied by the user and the corresponding mathematical tools of its exploitation are summarized, and an overall look at the state of the art is given.
