✦ Synopsis
17 Process heating, power and incineration (energy applications in industry) the produced gas, carbon-conversion and afterburner temperature The results of the experiments which were carried out at various temperatures (1073-1200 K), pressures (l-13 bar), air ratios (0.5-0.9) and with different coals were compared with chemical equilibrium calculation. In contrast to the operating pressure the heating value of the syngas (2 CO, Hz, CHI) could be increased significantly with increasing temperatures.
Due to the better gasification behaviour of sub-bituminous coal compared to bituminous coal, almost equilibrium conditions were achieved. The carbon conversion rate using sub-bituminous coal exceeded 97.5% at all air ratios, at high temperatures and pressures (13 bar/1173 K).
